Welcome

The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi claim "hospitality" as one of their hallmarks. In our Mission Statement we speak of "carrying forward the dependence on God, prayerfulness, simplicity, and hospitality which marked the foundation of the Congregation in Milwaukee." That foundation occurred in 1849 so for more than 150 years we have been practicing hospitality as a Congregation.
It is not surprising that hospitality should be a focus for us because as Franciscans we are called to value relationships where ever we find ourselves. Those relationships span all of creation because all that God has made is good. In our community and ministerial life, how we relate extends to persons, to our care for the earth, to our efforts in peacemaking, and, most importantly, to our God. Since 1849 we continue to grow in our understanding of how to live in relationship and witness to that with genuine hospitality.
Now in the 21st century, our hospitality extends into cyber space and this WEB site. On each page we highlight some aspect of our past, our present or our future. If you have comments or questions for us, please share those with us
in our Guestbook.
Thank you for visiting us and we look forward to your return visits in the future.
Come often and enjoy our Franciscan web hospitality!
