Young men who lived at St John’s School for Deaf in the 1800’s carved these “wooden flowers” which are located on the pews in our Motherhouse Chapel. Those who carved these flowers received their inspiration from the flowers around them located in the Seminary Woods and our Motherhouse grounds as are the photos of the “real” flowers. The Sisters of St Francis of Assisi were gifted by these wood carvers who brought the beauty of flowers into our place of worship. They are a wonderful reminder that all of us are surrounded inside and out by the Providence of God.
