During the COVID-19 shutdown, the justice and peace animators have kept the community engaged with social justice issues via weekly livestream programs that resident sisters view on their closed circuit TVs and non-resident sisters and associates view on livestream. The programs are varied in topic and, at times, include participation from local activists, leaders and our own sisters.
Some highlights…
• Celebrating the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty and Sister Ardeth Platte’s Activism
• Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker Movement with special guests Don Timmerman and Roberta Thurstin
• Renewing our Anti-Trafficking commitment with guests from Sisters Program South
• Care for Creation sessions: Appreciating Water, Life of Trees, and Laudato Si’ and Poetry
• Two-part session: Immigration…Love, Respect and Human Dignity
• Two-part session: OSF history and companion relationship to Tertiary Sisters of St Francis in Cameroon (photos from this two-part session are included here.)
