On a beautiful June morning, Sisters from Elizabeth Hall and Clare Circle continued the annual tradition of procession to the Sacred Heart statue in Convent Park on the feast of the Sacred Heart. This year, the feast day fell on June 24.
Sister Marlene Stawski led the Sisters as they prayed the Litany of the Sacred Heart, gathered before the statue. It was a continuation of a tradition begun by Mother Thecla in the early 1900s, following the donation of the life-sized statue by Dr. Thomas Fitzgibbons, a benefactor of the community. Each year, community members dedicate themselves and the work of the congregation to the Sacred Heart.
