Sister Lenore Steilen, OSF, celebrated 100 wonderful years of life on July 5, 2023. Born in Farmer, S.D., Sister Lenore professed vows in 1944 and for the next 56 years taught primary grades in Wisconsin and Iowa. She was school principal for 27 of those years.
After she retired in 2000, Sister returned to Milwaukee, where she volunteered at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care for 18 years. She currently resides at the Motherhouse in Saint Francis, Wis., and continues to be active in matters of justice and peace.
She is an inspiration to all who meet her, and she is wished peace, continued good health and all good as she continues on her life journey.
